Capturing the vintage charm of the coastal South, the Charleston Breakfast Table is crafted of Maple Veneers and has a scalloped apron design. The finish is Magnolia White, a color originally created from the purest limestone, used to paint the pillars, posts and fences of classic southern homes. The round table has understated cabriole legs, a Solid-Wood Edge top and accommodates up to 4 coordinating chairs.
Imagine a coastal breeze drifting through aged oak trees adorned with Spanish moss, gently ruffling the magnolias alongside historic homes, buildings, and churches that frame the cobbled streets of old. It is here in this tranquil stroll through southern lore, that the inspiration for “Charleston” was born. Charleston is a whole home collection that embodies the area’s classic traditional charm, coastal retreat, and refreshed English heritage. The traditional soul of the collection is set apart by translucent cathedral cherry veneers, exotic walnut and maple inlays, age worn black cherry accents, and custom antique burnished hardware. The collection also offers a more casual West-Indies inspired design using various materials that harken to the open sea where trade ships of the past carrying exotic spices, fabrics, and foods would dock along this southern jewel. As one would expect to see in the fabled shops along King Street, an array of pieces draped in finishes of weathered whites, yellows, greens, limes, and blues, intertwined with woven elements and linens are available to make each home its special place. Through hand-craftsmanship such as rubbing and padding, our finishes feel as good as they look, with a smoothness that is delightful to the touch.
Hooker Furniture uses carefully chosen solid wood and select wood veneers over durable wood products in our furniture construction. Use of veneers enables more decorative looks unattainable with solid wood. Veneers are used over durable wood products such as medium density fiberboard (MDF) and particle board, made of renewable resources. MDF and particle board are used in quality furniture for areas that need to be stable, such as large surfaces. These durable wood products do not expand and contract with heat and cold and do not absorb moisture as much as solid wood, which results in stronger and longer-lasting furniture.
